I did go with the highest bidder and it did not matter. And if were talking about people getting taken advantage of here, the paint suppliers with no relationship to a homeowner will 100% GOUGE the customer and completely take advantage of them with pricing. Contractors will pay nearly half the price and will still save the customers money marking up paint 10-15%.

We're so happy we went with these guys. We have an older 1940s house that needed a LOT of prep work. There were bad patch jobs, peeling water based paint over oil paint and old cracking oil paint. Some quoted 8-12k (for a 1000 sq ft house), others could do it for a reasonable price but with no guarantee on the work and said it wouldn't look that great. I've seen this article sent out 4 times now. It's out dated in terms of today's "Scams." Paint stores haven't charged more money for deeper paint colors in over 15 years. Also Water downed paint? Seriously? That would never happen in the real world. And Wall repair? what painter would ever not assume wall repair as included?
